UNC is out!!

My North Carolina Tarheels will not be repeat NCAA Champs - as they lost today to George Mason (65-60). They had a great year, all things considered, and got farther than I had any right to hope (given how many players they lost last year). The way they were playing toward the end of the year had me thinking sweet 16, at least, but it was not meant to be.

They should be really good next year with the #1 recruiting class in the nation coming in. Thanks to this year's squad for a great season - and for beating DUKE at cameron!! That makes any year a good year!!

Why are the Turkey's crossing the road?

In this case, because my friend Dustin was trying to hurd them towards me (and my camera) and they decided they preferred the other side of the street! Heehee.

This flock of Turkeys can often be heard around our house and in the valley, and it was just a fluke that when I went to pick up Dustin for our disc golf game that the flock was coming down Ascot Drive. There were more turkeys than are in the this picture, but this was shot had as many as I could get on film.

Perfect Snow Day!!

I went snowbaording with my friend JJ today at Sierra @ Tahoe and as you can see from the pictures below it was a beautiful day!!

There was knee deep powder off of the groomed runs and we had a wonderful time making our own tracks all day!!

In case we got into trouble, there was a big rescue dog at the top of the hill to come and find us. Although he seemed much more interested in the bone when I shot this picture.

We arrived around 9 A.M after a long haul (in JJ's case all the way from Santa Cruz) and there was very few people. It stayed that way all day and we left around 3:30 P.M. just as the next storm was coming in. In fact, it rained on the way home, so we really timed it just right. What a great day!!

Here is us in our snow gear... heehee.

We Win!!!

The North Carolina Tarheels soundly bet their hated rivals the Duke Blue Devils, in Cameron Indoor Stadium, on Senior Night, and in front of those Cameron Crazies who have been camping out for 3 months to get front row seats! Oh, and by the way, Duke was ranked #1 at the time!

Tyler Hansbrough was awesome and the rest of the young Heels just seemed to want it more that Duke's players did. Each year it is the same when these schools get together, you can throw out the records and rankings, whoever wants it the most usually wins. I was great to see the young Heels get it done!

New Microwave/Convection Oven

Kristin and I installed our new Micorwave / Convection oven today. We actually bought it last week-end, but since the store was out of stock on this model, we had to wait until today to pick it up. Our old unit made some aweful noises whenever we used it, and was surely on its last legs.

Around 3pm, I went to the store's warehouse in Kristin's car and picked it up - then waited to get her help before installing it. The unit had a small dent in the top, so we even got a little discount - and no one will ever see it as the dent is now hidden from view next to the cabinets.

The installation was a bit harder than we originally thought, since the holes left by the previous unit did not line up with new model. Eventually (and after a bit of drilling) we figured it out and managed to got it all nice and snug in its new location. It looks great and we can't wait to break it in!
