New Shoes

In the last couple of weeks I picked a couple of pairs of Jordan's that I have been meaning to post. Here they are.

These are the latest Jordan's the XX3 5/8. They are nice and based on the most recent full version (which I got for my birthday in black). I think I actually prefer these are they are a little softer.

These are a retro version of one of my favorite Jordan's of all time (Jordan 11) or which I still have a few pairs including a original pair. These are super comfy and I really like the grey color.

Last Harry Potter

This week-end was for the most part spent reading the last of the Harry Potter Novels - Harry Potter and the Deadly Hallows.

After finishing it tonight around 6:30, I have to say that is was a very good book, maybe her best. I will have to re-read it to take in more of the subtle details, but at first read I enjoyed it a lot.

It is hard to believe that this will be the last we hear about the world J.K. Rowling as created and the characters I have grown so attached to - I will miss them very much! It is like losing contact with a best friend. I still have so much I would like to know and hear more about... but I also can see why J.K.R. is glad to be finished, and I don't blame her for wanting to just relax a bit. Hopefully she will change her mind, in time, and write more tales of the Boy-who-lived. Until then, this was a great way to end the series.

Fuller Foursome

With my brother Vern in from Oregon, and my dad staying close by to avoid the heat in Phoenix, it seemed a great time to do a little "Old School" golfing at Rancho Solano!!

This is me, Russ, Dad (Walt), & Vern

We had a great time playing the old course where we had many a hot summer round, back when we all lived in the area. Russ has only recently joined the golf group (having the good sense to not play the game until the last few years), and so it was a "Fuller Foursome" on the tee. Below is Russ and Vern as we started the back nine.

It was a nice day, not too hot and with a little breeze, but that didn't stop me from shooting a million (or a liberal 96). Vern took the informal tourney, after pops faded down the stretch. Dad started out well and was up at he turn, but a bad (for him) back nine, and Vern coming alive, was enough for Vern to win by 4.

Vern has a really nice swing - Here he strokes it down the middle while Dad and Russ look on.

"Yes... did you see where my ball went??"

Overall it was a great time, and it was good to catch up with everyone and I look forward to doing it again when I can be in the hunt.
